Chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate chip cookies

I have made a lot of attempts at various recipes for chocolate chip cookies before I finally settled on one which tastes amazing. Its only downfall is that it isn’t quite perfected yet. However, it’s by far the most delicious chocolate chip recipe I’ve tried. Remember that you can pre-roll your cookies and freeze them. When you fancy a couple just defrost for about 20m and then bake!

8oz unsalted butter
1 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla (go for the good stuff if you can)
2 eggs
3-4 cups plain flour (roughly)
1 tsp baking powder
Chocolate chips and chunks

Preheat oven to 176oC
Melt butter and let it cool
Cream butter and sugar
Add vanilla and eggs
Add flour and baking powder
Mix until it crumbles and then press with your hands until it makes a dough (add more flour here if needed, this is a crucial step, the mix must be dough like)
Add chocolate chips/chunks
Bake for 11m (do NOT overbake! They’ll look a little undercooked when they come out but just go with it, that’s what gives them the gooey center).
Cool on wire rack

Enjoy!
